SEMINAR INVITATION

12-13 December 2019 - TU Eindhoven (NL) 

Teachers in engineering face several challenges in teaching ethics. This workshop focuses on mutual support for solving these challenges. The workshop will be clustered around themes identified by participants including educational methods, student experiences, assessing the impact of ethics education. Participants can bring in their own issues and will work on their challenges to take actual improvements ‘back home’. Download the invitation in PDF format.

Proposals for topics can be submitted until Friday, 15 November.

ANNUAL CONFERENCE 

Varietas Delectat... Complexity is the new normality

The proceedings of the SEFI 2019 Annual Conference in Budapest are now available online at SEFI website. 

The proceedings will also soon be listed in SCOPUS.

Besides the papers, this year, the publication also includes the results of the conference workshops.  

A-STEP 2030 + PREFER PROJECT

Celebration of #ErasmusDays2019 in Dublin and in Brest

10 October 2019 - Dublin, Ireland. CREATE research group of TU Dublin organised #ErasmusDays2019 with the presentation of the PREFER, A-STEP 2030 and RULES MATHS Engineering Education projects which are funded through Erasmus+.

10 October 2019 - Brest, France. "Green Afternoon" was organised by ENSTA Bretagne with the support of the A-STEP 2030 project, BEST ENSTA Bretagne and Enactus ENSTA Bretagne students organisations. During this afternoon students had the opportunity to discuss about the social responsibility of engineering profession with Alumni students and finish the afternoon with a "zero waste coffee".

A-STEP 2030  PROJECT

09-11 October 2019 - Vantaa, Finland. The discussions focussed on the results of the first activity: determine future roles and skills requirements of engineers to enhance the sustainable development of society; and prepared the second activity: investigate the values and motivations of young people, students, and adult learners to determine how this influences their future career choices and use this knowledge to make a career in engineering more attractive to all young people.

RECENT PUBLICATIONS - DIVERSITY IN ENGINEERING EDUCATION

The Engineering Studies latest issue on Men and Masculinities in Engineering: Volume 1 (Guest Editor: Kacy Beddoes) is available online. The studies published in this special issue represent international perspectives from Sweden, Spain, and the United States.

    Deadline for abstracts: 29 November 2019

    25-29 May 2020 - Opatia, HR. "Engineering education" invites all researchers and practitioners to share their activities, efforts, results and insights related to education of engineers. In particular the following topics are highly encouraged: Educational Tools, Educational Methods, Development of Curriculum, Use of Multimedia, Simulations, (Self)Assessment, Virtual Learning, Environments, Internships.

    Paper submission: 1 November 2019

    11-15 May 2020 - Dublin, Ireland. This Symposium will be co-organized by the Technological University Dublin and the Delft University of Technology. Time has come for submitting full-length papers (10-12 pages) to this Symposium. 
    The focus theme of the TMCE 2020 Symposium will be:
