The deadline to submit a short story for the Taylor PTA Short Story Contest has been extended to March 4! Writers can submit their entries to the Short Story Contest of the Taylor PTA Short Story Contest Topic: Family (including "chosen family" or "found family"). 500 words max. Details can be found at Taylor PTA website. Good luck everyone!

Taylor Math and Problem-solving Club

Last week (2/23), the students were asked to decide when they will STAY or CONTINUE in the game of “Pig.” After rolling 10 points, most of the students wanted to continue. They learned the concept of the expected value of the next roll (e.g., after 10 points the expected value of the next roll is 11.66) They had to decide at what point they should CONTINUE and at what point they should STAY instead of risking a BUST. They learned that they should stop at 20 points. Please see the activity worksheet (left) for detail.

Huge thanks to Tim Eller and Mr. Chen for leading the Math Club! Follow-up optional questions for the students to test their understanding.

Next week, they will move on to the next topic.

Our campaign to renew Millbrae school funding is now officially on the ballot as Measure A!

If we fail to pass Measure A, our students and schools stand to lose highly skilled teachers, additional technology, and critical academic and wellness programs.

We are reaching out to you because we need your help. We are asking that as many people as possible spare a few hours over the next 2 months to speak to as many voters as possible to vote YES, sign, and turn in their ballots when they arrive in April.

We need to renew Millbrae school funding!

Dear families and supporters of Millbrae students,

Our campaign to renew Millbrae school funding is now officially on the ballot as Measure A!

If we fail to pass Measure A, our students and schools stand to lose highly skilled teachers, additional technology, and critical academic and wellness programs.

We are reaching out to you because we need your help. We are asking that as many people as possible spare a few hours over the next 2 1/2 months to speak to as many voters as possible to vote YES, sign, and turn in their ballots when they arrive in April.

Below are some activities and events we hope you will sign up for. Our community and students deserve excellent schools.

1. Volunteer Breakfast & Orientation on Saturday, March 4 at 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Constitution Circle (in front of Millbrae Library). We'll provide a sample script and answer all your questions on how to talk to people about Measure A. No previous experience needed!

2. Sign up to walk in our neighborhoods to talk to neighbors: Turf Assignment
