The programme of the special EU port policy evening at the headquarters of the Antwerp port authority on 12 March 2020 has been further developed. It will focus on the practical implications of the EU Seaports Regulation no. 2017/352 on port monopolies, concessions, tariffs and labour. In addition to Antwerp port president Annick De Ridder, professor Eric Van Hooydonk and José Fernandez García of the European Commission, Dimitrios Theologitis will also contribute. As head of the port policy department of the European Commission, he launched the proposal for a regulation in 2013, and skilfully guided it through the European legislative procedure. Port lawyer Guy Janssens will explain how the Antwerp Port Authority applies the regulation in practice. We expect three other speakers on behalf of, among others, the European Maritime Pilots' Association and the Flemish Ministry of Public Works. Admission to this unique event is completely free, but pre-registration is required via this link.
