The massive white oak that once stood guard over the cemetery next to the Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church was no ordinary tree. It died in 2017 at the ripe old age of 619.

Urban Wood Rescue boasts that it has diverted approximately 200,000 board feet of lumber from the landfill. The lumber was milled from trees removed at the end of their lifespan in Sacramento.
